As I mentioned in my previous post I'm in the middle of moving a blog from MSN Spaces to my Community Server site. Of course there were some issues to resolve. You first need to turn on e-mail publishing for your MSN Spaces blog. You cannot use the MetaWeblog API without it. You can turn it on by following the steps documented in the Getting Started with the MetaWeblog API for MSN Spaces page. Note: you may have to use Firefox to do this. No lie. While using IE6 an error kept popping up on me. Weird.
Next you will have to download the XML-RPC dll. Unzip the...
I will be needing to migrate a MSN Spaces blog over to my Community Server site. I can't tell you what blog yet but it involves primates, colors and flames. Fortunately, Microsoft has made available the MetaWeblog API on MSN Spaces. They also have a decent getting started with MetaWeblog API for MSN Spaces page. Unfortunately, they limit the metaWeblog.getRecentPosts method to only 20 posts. Ughhh. I can't fault MS too much their documentation is not too bad. I've got an idea on how I'm going to port the data. I'll post the code I've completed the port.
It looks like internet video is finally taking off. Sites like YouTube and Libsyn are now allowing users to upload video and share it for free or a small cost. This is allowing the individual to create and publish video content without bandwidth and storage costs. Of course bitTorrent has been around a while now but it can be cumbersome for the average user to use and of course it can be changeling to find content. Some of my favorite video sites are AskANinja, DiggNation and Rocketboom.
This video revolution has made some traditional shows relevant again. SNL has seen a popularity rise since...
I just ran across this new digital photography site JustShowMeHowTo.com. The site does exactly what it says; it shows you how to use your digital camera and how to take better pictures. Via Scoble.
I open my Gmail account this morning and what did I find? A delete button! Now it doesn’t take me two clicks to delete messages, one button is all I need. Thanks Google, it’s about freakin’ time. BTW, they’ve also made Gmail accessible via your phone. Just point your phone’s web browser to http://m.gmail.com to check your spam mail wirelessly.
When I saw this I was shocked. Microsoft has a sense of humor. If you have ever used a Microsoft product you must see this. When you reach the page, click “watch the entire show” to view the video. This could be the funniest MS video ever next to the Bill Gates/Napoleon Dynamite vid. Damn funny stuff. Via Joystiq.
In my opinion, NewsGator is the best RSS aggregator. It's integration with Outlook makes reading feeds ultra-convenient. If you haven’t tried NewsGator now’s the time because version 2.5 has been released. I’ve been using the beta and the integration with the NewsGator Web Edition is fantastic. Works as advertised. You might also want to try their podcasting application FeedStation. It’s not better than Doppler, yet. But I have a feeling it’s going to get there.
I caught Ron Howard's cabana talk on Community Server. There's a lot of cool new stuff that they've got planned. I got the feeling that they've got more features than devs/time. But it's good to know that they've got their pulse on the community and are listening. You hear that DotNetNuke community? Telligent is listening!
I had lunch with a couple of people who spent their evenings going to clubs and parties till two or three in the morning. How in the heck can you go to all of the sessions and have enough energy to go clubbing? I wonder...

I really need to look into Google’s AdSense. Pirillo talks about how he loves AdSense. And this guy, Joel Comm, proclaims how he makes $500 a day with AdSense. He’s even written an e-book on how you can earn more with AdSense. You just might see context sensitive ads on Jorriss.com very shortly.
Update 4/14/05 11:23 PM: Chris Pirillo uploaded a podcast where he interviews Mr. $500-a-day.
